Pinterest is my new best friend. Finally, a place without a crazy algorithm where you can market your business.
I started putting effort into my Pinterest in May of 2022 and in one month I had increased my views by 200%. This is a great place to get exposure and increase your revenue. The key is to be consistent and intentional.
If you’ve been wanting to start using Pinterest as a marketing channel but aren’t sure how to do that, read on.
Start by taking a look at what you currently have on your Pinterest. Do your boards align with your goals? Are your pins clean and easy to understand? Is there a path that every pin follows? Be honest with yourself! If something needs changing this is the best time to make it happen.
Make sure you have connected your website to your profile. You want people to go to your website from Pinterest so this is vital. Also, connect Google analytics and any necessary tags as well.
Maybe you don’t want to hear this but SEO plays a major role in Pinterest. Take time researching keywords that relate to your brand. Do this by searching the Pinterest nav bar, it shows you the top searches of the word you input. Make a list of keywords to use in your descriptions and titles. Repeat the process for your hashtags and make sure to use the mobile app for this.
When making boards for Pinterest, you should think about your ideal client. What are they searching for? What problems do they have that you can solve? Make relevant boards that capture your ideal client. I suggest 12-15 boards that serve your ideal client and 3-5 lifestyle boards.
My favorite part of this is designing, duh! When making your pins, make sure to make them clean, minimal, and easy to understand. Your font will be a huge factor here so make sure you have a few good ones. Check out this blog post to learn how to pick the best font for your business. Pro tip: You can use the same piece of content up to 8 times, just make sure the pin is at least 80% different than the rest.
Do yourself a favor and get Tailwind. By far the easiest way to automate all your pins and make them work for you. Add in your titles, descriptions, and hashtags, and set them up on the boards you want them in. You can also join groups to share your pins in. This is a great way to increase your exposure.
