It’s time for a very special client spotlight! We have been working on this brand and web design for over a year. There have been a lot of obstacles but it was so worth it.
Tiny Warriors Foundation is a nonprofit founded by Evelyn Pinto-Cardona and Jessica Ramirez. The entire mission of this nonprofit is to help parents who have gone through the very difficult situation of having a baby in the NICU.
Although the way Evelyn and Jessica met was very traumatic, they came together to make a foundation that is going to help many people. These women show both sides of the coin when it comes to having a baby in the NICU. Evelyn’s baby Mateo, unfortunately, did not make it out of the NICU. Meanwhile, Jessica’s baby did survive. If there was one thing that these women with two very different outcomes could agree on was the lack of resources they had for people who went through this.
Evelyn and I went to high school together and we had not spoken in a few years when fate reconnected us. After hearing her story, I immediately offered her our services pro bono. And today we get to share with the world, the Tiny Warriors Foundation.
If there was one thing we wanted to make sure this brand emitted was hope. They didn’t want to see sadness or hopelessness in their branding. This was a tricky thing to overcome because of the essence of the foundation. But we made it happen by using colors and playful brand marks.
The type suite was carefully chosen to remind parents of the whimsicalness of children. Between the colors, the fonts and the brand marks we had a brand that was full of life and hope.
All that was left was the logo. After talking to Evelyn, she emphasized the meaning of the elephant when it came to her and her angel baby Mateo. We knew an elephant was going to be the best representation of this brand.
The illustration of the parent elephant caressing the baby elephant is a representation of the love a parent has for their child in any situation.
The website is a story of the hope that is left after experiencing having a baby in the NICU. You can find ways to donate, resources to help you if you experienced it, elephant stuffed animals that represent a baby angel, and graduation gifts for babies who survived. I highly recommend visiting the website and donating if you can. If not, share it with people. This is a special foundation with so much meaning behind it. Let's help these women help families who have gone or are going through these hard times.
